Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani welcomed a new member to the Ambani family on 10th December as son Akash and daughter-in-law Shloka became proud parents to a baby boy. The baby boy was born today at the Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. The ISH News team extend our heartiest congratulations to the couple. An official statement by the Ambani family said, “"Both mother and son are doing well. The new arrival has brought immense joy to the entire Mehta and Ambani families." Akash Ambani is the eldest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani and Shloka Mehta is the daughter of diamond magnate Russel Mehta and Mona. The two went to school together at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School and have known each other since childhood.

Shloka, born and raised in a business family, however, drifted towards philanthropy. She studied at Princeton University and pursued her Master's degree from the London School of Economics following which she returned to India in 2014. Eventually, they went on to date and Akash popped the question in Goa in 2018. The couple tied the knot in March last year in Mumbai. The wedding ceremony and ensuing celebrations were attended by politicians, film stars, businessmen and cricketers.
