MS Dhoni Hands Over Captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has handed over the captaincy reins at Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Ravindra Jadeja, ahead of the start of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Chennai Super King (CSK) is going to play against Kolkata Knight Riders on 27 March 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This is the 1st IPL match of 2022. Chennai Super King (CSK) captain is MS Dhoni. He has been the captain of IPL for 12 IPL seasons. Dhoni, who was bought by CSK in the 1st season of IPL in 2008 and has led CSK to 4 IPL victories in his 12 seasons. Under Dhoni, CSK established itself as the most consistent team. They always performed very well. Just 2 days before the match, yesterday MS Dhoni dropped a bomb and handed over the captaincy to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Dhoni chose Jadeja to be the captain, as he has been an integral part of CSK since 2012. However, Dhoni has said that he will continue to play for the team. After MS Dhoni stepped down as captain of Chennai Super Kings, handing over captaincy to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, farewell messages started pouring in for Dhoni as well as congratulatory wishes for Jadeja. MSD's close friends and former CSK teammate Suresh Raina said, "Absolutely thrilled for my brother. I can't think of anyone better to take over the reins of a franchise we both had grown up in. All the best @imjadeja. It's an exciting phase and I'm sure you will live up to all the expectations and love.’

However, Raina did not say anything about MS Dhoni leaving the captaincy. Fans are now wondering why he did not say anything as he is very very close to Dhoni.  At the auction this year, CSK did not buy Raina even for his base price of Rs 2 crore. Fans are wondering whether this ignorance from Raina is to do with him not being picked in CSK this season.
