Mira-Bhayandar: 2 Watchmen Stabbed After Being Asked About Religion
A man identified as Javed Ansari allegedly stabbed two security guards in Mira Road after questioning their religion, leaving them seriously injured.
A violent incident unfolded in the early hours of April 27, 2026, at an under-construction site in Mira Road’s Naya Nagar area, where a man allegedly attacked two security guards with a knife.
The victims—identified as Rajkumar Mishra and Subrato Sen (with some reports naming Ramesh Sain as the second guard)—were seriously injured.
According to preliminary findings, the attacker reportedly questioned them about their religion and asked them to recite the Kalma. When they could not, he allegedly carried out the assault.
Police from Naya Nagar quickly reached the scene after locals raised an alarm. Using CCTV footage, they identified and arrested the accused, 31-year-old Javed Ansari, a Mumbai native who had been living alone in the area.
Given the seriousness of the case, the Anti-Terrorism Squad has joined the investigation. Authorities are examining the accused’s mental state, background, and possible motives.
Security has been tightened in the area, with police urging residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.
