Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma became proud parents to a baby girl on January 11. Virat Kohli, who returned from the tour of Australia after the end of the first Test against Australia in Adelaide, was on paternity leave to be with his wife Anushka Sharma. 

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are not the only star duo to be blessed with a baby girl. Among this current lot in the Indian cricket team, daughters are dominating the field which highlights that the current time is the period where girl power is dominating. In fact, there is an entire playing 11 of fathers in the Indian cricket team who are proud fathers to a daughter. 

Let me tell you about them 

1. Ajinkya Rahane and his wife Radhika were blessed with a baby girl on October 5. Rahane captioned a picture revealing the name of his daughter and it was Aarya. Rahane had married his childhood sweetheart Radhika in 2014.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin is a class act on the field. Ashwin has two beautiful daughters and their names are Aadhya and Akhira.

3. Cheteshwar Pujara is an amazing cricketer and his superb performance helped India save the Sydney Test against Australia. In February 2018, Pujara and his wife Puja gave birth to a baby daughter called Aditi.

4. Gautam Gambhir helped India win the 2007 World T20 and the 2011 World Cup. After retiring in 2018, Gautam Gambhir has been active in politics and has been one of the star faces of the BJP in Delhi. He has two daughters in Aazeen and Anaiza. Aazeen was born in 2014 while Anaiza was born on 2017.

5. Harbhajan Singh married Bollywood actress Geeta Basra. In 2016, the couple became proud parents of a baby girl and they named her Hinaya Peer Plaha.

6. Mahindra Singh Dhoni’s daughter Ziva has been the darling of the Indian cricket team fans as well as on social media. She is so famous that she has even gotten offers from companies for advertisements. 

7. Sachin Tendulkar, the greatest batsman in the history of cricket, was blessed with a baby girl on October 12, 1997. Sara Tendulkar did her schooling from Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and then went on to graduate in Medicines from University College London. 

8. Rohit Sharma is one of the best players when it comes to 20 overs cricket. Rohit Sharma married Ritika Sajdeh in December 2015 and they were blessed with a baby daughter, Samaira in December 2018.

9. Suresh Raina has been a vital member of the Indian cricket team when they won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Suresh Raina married his wife Priyanka and Gracia Raina was born on 16 May 2016. Recently, the duo were blessed with a baby boy and they named him Rio.

10. Sourav Ganguly, the current BCCI president, is credited for making the Indian cricket team strong overseas during his tenure as captain. The Prince of Kolkata has achieved many remarkable things in his career. Dada is also a proud father to a baby girl. On November 3, 2001, Sourav and Dona became parents to Sana Ganguly. Sana is also a trained Odissi dancer and recently, she appeared in an advertisement with her father Sourav.

11. Kapil Dev is the individual who put India on the cricketing map when he helped India win the 1983 World Cup against the West Indies in Lord's. Kapil Dev is considered the greatest all-rounder in the history of cricket and his achievements are legendary. In January 1996, Kapil Dev and Romi became proud parents to Amiya Dev in New Delhi. Amiya completed her schooling and then went abroad for further studies. Subsequently, Amia Dev worked as an assistant director in a biopic on her father's life titled '83'.
