Massive Fire Breaks Out in Maharashtra

On Saturday, a massive fire broke out in a godown of wooden furniture, in Maharashtra’s Thane district.

Around 40 godowns of wooden furniture were burnt down in a fire. The fire broke out in a wholesale market at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane district. 

Santosh Kadam is the chief of Thane Municipal Corporation's “Regional Disaster Management Cell” (RDMC) He said that nobody was injured in the fire. He also said that the fire broke out at one of the furniture godowns, which quickly spread to the next storerooms. Around 40 of these store rooms were completely destroyed in the incident. 

On being informed, the fire brigade from Thane and Bhiwandi, a team of the RDMC and fire engines rushed to the place.

The fire started around 11 pm on Friday night and was brought under control by 4:45 am on Saturday. They are now searching for the cause of the fire.
