I hope there is a thorough investigation in the case.”  CM of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan tweeted, “A viral video of Sidhi district has come to my notice. I have instructed the administration to arrest the culprit and take strict action and also impose NSA (National Security Act).”  Police said Pravesh has been charged under the NSA (National Security Act) and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes - Prevention of Atrocities Act.  Pravesh was on the run and anticipating that the video would invite stern action against Pravesh, his uncle lodged a complaint with the local police stating that Pravesh had been missing since 29th June.  In the complaint, the uncle says he thinks that Pravesh might commit suicide as a fake video has been made by some people to get him implicated in a false case under the SC/ST Act. However, Pravesh was arrested on the intervening night of 4th and 5th July and is being questioned. Also according to several sources, the victim has prepared an affidavit stating that the video is fake and had been filmed to get Pravesh implicated in a false case. But this affidavit was prepared under pressure and has not been submitted anywhere yet. Hitting out at the state government, Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Kamal Nath said that the incident has shamed the entire state. After Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the accused, Pravesh Shukla, wouldn't be spared, the district administration bulldozed Pravesh’s house. In a tweet, the CM's office said, " Bulldozers have started, and if needed, CM will bury the criminals even under 10 feet of ground. People with wrong intentions think 10 times before committing crime in Madhya Pradesh."  However, accused's mother, other family members begged not to destroy house.
