Lohagad Murder: Eyewitness Reveals What Happened at the Fort
A new eyewitness has told Pune Rural Police that they saw Ketan Agarwal being pushed from Lohagad Fort on 18 June.
There is a new update in the Lohagad murder case, in which Pune Rural Police allege that Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary pushed her fiancé Ketan Agarwal off Lohagad Fort on 18 June 2026.
A previously undisclosed eyewitness has told police that they saw Ketan being pushed from the fort. The witness was visiting Lohagad with a friend’s family that day.
While climbing the fort, the witness noticed Ketan and Siya walking together, with Chetan following them. The witness specifically remembered Chetan because he was wearing a hoodie despite the summer heat and had even asked him about it.
After reaching the fort, Chetan reportedly sat near a temple before following Ketan and Siya further. The witness later moved away because of stomach cramps. When the witness returned, they said they saw Siya point towards Chetan and then kick Ketan on the leg. According to the statement, Chetan then ran towards Ketan from behind and pushed him towards the cliff.
The witness said they later confronted Chetan about what they had seen. Chetan allegedly threatened to throw them from the fort as well if they spoke about the incident. The witness did not immediately approach the police. After later seeing reports about Ketan’s death, they contacted the police and recorded their statement on 23 June, five days after the incident.
Other Evidence
Police have also collected photographs taken by tourists who visited Lohagad on 18 June. Some of the photographs reportedly show Ketan, Siya and Chetan in the background. These photographs are being examined as part of the investigation.
Another witness from Bengaluru also gave a statement to police. According to the investigation, Siya and Chetan had contacted this person about places where Ketan could be beaten, killed or mutilated. The person reportedly told them not to do anything like that. Police also found discussions about tearing up Ketan’s passport.
Investigators have examined around 12 TB of digital data from six mobile phones, nine pen drives, backups, call records and social media accounts. Police also recovered information from another phone that they say Siya had damaged and hidden inside the house.
Chargesheet Filed
On 19 September 2026, Pune Rural Police filed a 5,053-page chargesheet containing statements from around 80–85 witnesses, along with WhatsApp chats, photographs, mobile-phone data, call records, CCTV footage and forensic evidence. The chargesheet includes the statements of people who police say witnessed the incident, along with technical and digital evidence collected during the investigation.
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are in custody, while the investigation and legal proceedings continue. The claims and evidence presented by police will be examined by the court.
