LoC and Blue Corner Notice Against Jagpalpreet in Belgium
The police are seeking to extradite a Belgian-based suspect in connection with the murder of a Deaf man in India, following international cooperation efforts.

The Pydhonie Police are investigating the case and have arrested three people—Jay Chawda, Shivjeet Singh, and Arshad’s wife, Ruksana Arshad Ali Shaikh. They are now in jail.
During the investigation, the police found out that the accused had recorded videos while torturing Arshad. They made video calls to a man named Jagpalpreet Kamal Singh, who is currently living in Belgium. Jagpalpreet is originally from Phagwara, Punjab.
The Pydhonie Police have asked the Mazgaon Metropolitan Magistrate Court to bring Jagpalpreet to India for questioning. To do this, they have started the process of issuing a Lookout Circular (LoC) and a Blue Corner Notice against him.
A Blue Corner Notice is issued by Interpol to locate, identify, or get information about a person involved in a criminal investigation. Interpol is an international police organization with 196 member countries.
Meanwhile, a Lookout Circular (LoC) is used in India to stop people wanted by the police from leaving the country or to track their movements.
According to the Brussels Times, Jagpalpreet has already been arrested by the police in Ghent, Belgium. He was brought before a judge on 9th August and has been ordered to stay in jail for a month.
The police in India and Belgium are now working together to investigate Jagpalpreet’s role in the murder. It is possible that he might be sent to India later.
This case is a reminder of the need for international cooperation to handle such serious crimes.
