Now her father said, “There were three bodies at the crematorium, but our daughter's body was cremated first. The CM is talking about providing justice, but then attempts are being made to put the common people demanding justice in jail. We are not satisfied with the CM…

…No one from the department or the college cooperated with us. The entire department is involved in this. No results have come out of the inquiry that is being done. We hope we will get results.”

The victim's mother revealed that her daughter had expressed reluctance about going to the hospital in the days leading up to the attack.

The mother also said, “One person has been arrested. I am sure many more are involved in this incident. I think the entire department is responsible for the incident. I feel that the Chief Minister is trying to stop the protest, today she imposed Section 144 here so that people cannot protest

"All the schemes by Mamata Banerjee - the Kanyashree scheme, the Lakshmi scheme - are all pseudo. Whoever wants to avail of these schemes, before availing them, kindly see if your Lakshmi at home is safe at all," she said.

Her colleague asked how the accused, Sanjay Roy, got to know that the victim was alone in the seminar hall. “Roy could be a part of a plot hatched by a big fish. She was targeted. How did the civic volunteer know she was alone in the seminar hall at that time?”

Another colleague claimed the victim was trying to expose the possible drug siphoning racket in her department. “She might have known too much about something,” he said.

The victim's father doubts if his daughter was killed in the seminar hall. He said, “We found lapses by the police and informed the CBI. We now doubt if she was murdered in the seminar hall. It might be that she was killed elsewhere.”

The CBI's team, including five experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), is probing every angle.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted a psychological test of the prime suspect, Sanjoy Roy.

The controversial former head of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is being questioned by the CBI for the last 4 days.

They are also examining his call records and chat, and have asked him to provide details of his phone calls before and after the incident that occurred on August 9. They are also planning to get his call and data consumption details from the service provider.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday is scheduled to hear on Tuesday a suo motu plea related to the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata on August 9, in the RG Kar Medical Hospital. The plea has been listed as the first matter, and will likely be heard at 10:30am on August 20.

On 16th August 2024, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee lead a protest rally in response to the incident demanding capital punishment for the accused(s).

CM Mamata Banerjee is also the minister of

  1. Home & Hill Affairs

  2. Health and Family Welfare

  3. Land and Land Reforms & Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation

  4. Information and Cultural Affairs

  5. Personnel and Administrative Reforms

  6. Planning & Statistics

  7. Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education of West Bengal

Therefore, Netizens and opposition parties exclaimed that Mamata is protesting against herself and continue to demand her resignation.

Union minister and West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar said, “She (Mamata Banerjee) herself is the Chief Minister, Home Minister, Health Minister, then against whom was she protesting by taking out a rally?”

BJP Women Wing’s National Vice President Pooja Kapil Mishra called Mamata a “drama queen” & said that she (Mamata) has buried the law in a ditch and left it.

Opposition parties, Media personnels, and all the citizens of India are still waiting for the answers to the following questions in the case from the Mamata Banerjee government:

  1. The victims’s body had 14 wounds, and her lower body was uncovered. Why did hospital authorities tell her parents it was a suicide?

  2. Why did the family have to beg the police & hospital authorities to let them see their daughter’s body?

  3. Has Kolkata police sent any notice to principal Sandeep Ghosh for disclosing the victim’s name in a press conference?

  4. How West Bengal state government gave principal Sandeep Ghosh another job within hours of quitting his job at RG Kar Hospital, despite this incident, workplace violence charges and corruption charges?

  5. Who & how were renovations allowed at the registered crime scene, especially when the investigation is ongoing?
