Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's Cars Collide with Each Other

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy was involved in a minor accident, while Tamil actor Thalapathy Vijay’s political debut drew a massive crowd in Tamil Nadu.

On the evening of October 28, 2024, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy met with an accident while returning from Kottayam to Thiruvananthapuram. The accident took place at Vamanapuram when the convoy's pilot car, a white SUV, made an emergency stop. The sudden halt caused all the cars in the convoy, including the CM’s official car and an ambulance, to collide in a chain reaction.

A video of the accident quickly went viral, showing a woman on a scooter taking a sharp turn in front of the convoy’s lead car, forcing it to come to a screeching stop. This sudden action led to the following cars and ambulance crashing into one another. Fortunately, CM Vijayan’s car, positioned in the middle of the convoy, only had minor damage, and the CM himself was unharmed. His security team and medical staff immediately checked on him, ensuring he was safe.

The Kerala Police have launched an investigation into the woman scooter driver to understand more about what happened.

In Tamil Nadu, popular Tamil actor 'Thalapathy' Vijay recently announced his entry into politics, leaving acting behind. On October 27, 2024, Vijay held the first major conference for his new political party, ‘Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam’ (TVK), to lay out his plans for the future. The event saw an enormous turnout of over 3 lakh fans and supporters from all over Tamil Nadu.

The Chennai-Tiruchirapalli national highway was packed with vans, buses, and bikes carrying Vijay's supporters, who waved TVK flags, sang his popular songs, and cheered for his party. Massive cut-outs of Vijay and party banners were set up along the road, adding to the excitement of the gathering. However, managing such a large crowd became challenging for the police, who had to redirect regular highway traffic to ensure smoother movement on the highway.

Photos and aerial shots of the crowd at the conference have been widely shared on social media. While organizers claimed they had made arrangements for up to 5 lakh attendees, some visitors complained about limited access to water and other facilities. During the event, Vijay announced his decision to contest in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections.

The past few days have seen two major events involving well-known figures from South India—CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s convoy accident and Thalapathy Vijay’s powerful entry into politics. These events have stirred public interest, showing how the political landscape is evolving in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
