Kamala Harris to Run for Presidency in US in 2020

America’s first Indian-origin Senaor to run for the 2020 Presidential Ections.

54 year old Kamala Harris, is America’s first India-origin Senator. On 22 January 2019, on Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday, she announced that she will take part in the 2020 Presidential elections against Donald Trump. She is against the Trump government policies.

Kamala is the daughter of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father. Her mother had immigrated from Chennai in 1960. Her sister Maya Harris was part of Hillary Clinton’s election team in 2016.

There are 4 women from the Democratic party of America who are taking part in the 2020 Presidential Elections. Tulsi Gabbard a Hindu-American from Hawaii, Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts and Kirsten Gillibrand from New York.

Kamala will have to force strong competition from these women. She will also face competition from the male participants.

In America, people call her ‘Female Obama’. If she wins, she would be the first Indian-American as well as the first black woman to become the President of America.
