Jharkhand: Missing Woman Found in a Cave, Behaving Like a Snake

A young local Jharkhand girl, who had been missing for the past 3 months was found living in Ranidih Gupta Cave and behaving exactly like a snake.

A young local girl who had been missing for the past three months in Jharkhand was found yesterday inside the Ranidih Gupta Cave in Kariwadih village, Garwah district. What's strange is that the girl has been behaving like a snake, even flicking her tongue like one.

A few days ago, the girl appeared in the dreams of her family members, telling them she was in a secret mountain cave and asking them to come and perform a kirtan (holy singing) there. Believing the dream, her family went to Gupta Pahari on the morning of 28th July 2024 but couldn't find her at first.

They performed a special puja (prayer ritual) and sang kirtan for several hours. In the evening, the girl finally came out of hiding. News of her discovery and strange behavior spread quickly, drawing large crowds to the cave to see her acting like a snake. Some people even started worshiping her on the spot.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, the girl can be seen slithering on the ground and flicking her tongue, with people trying to calm her. Towards the end of the video, she can be seen standing normally after her family offers prayers. She was safely taken home by her family later.

The video has sparked a lot of reactions online. Some social media users made fun of the video, while others called it a charade. Many linked her behavior to the ongoing 'Sawan' month, a holy time for Lord Shiva's devotees, while others expressed concern for the girl's mental health.

One user commented, "These things can only be seen in India," while another joked, “The next Nagin season will be shot in Jharkhand.” Another user wrote, “Honestly guys, this is downright creepy. I cannot imagine what led to the poor girl disappearing for three months, only to be found in a cave?? And then exhibits snake-like movements. Is it just me or does the whole story sound fake? Or is it one of those superstitious possession tales."

The girl's family and local authorities are looking into the incident further.
