Jeet Adani’s Wedding More Expensive Than Anant Ambani’s?

Jeet Adani's upcoming wedding is expected to be a lavish affair, potentially surpassing the grandeur of Anant Ambani's wedding, despite Gautam Adani's claims of simplicity.

The wedding of Anant Ambani set a new benchmark for grand weddings in India, showcasing extravagant celebrations. If you missed it, you can catch up on the details here. But now, another mega wedding is on the horizon, and it’s drawing attention for its sheer scale and luxury.

On 7th February 2025, Jeet Adani, the youngest son of Asia's second richest businessman, Gautam Adani, is set to marry Diva Shah in a wedding that is expected to be even more lavish than Anant Ambani’s. The event will take place in Ahmedabad, with pre-wedding festivities starting from 5th February.

Jeet Adani, a director at Adani Airports, which manages six airports across India, is a graduate from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Reports suggest that he has been engaged to Diva Shah since March 2023.

The wedding promises to be a grand affair with some jaw-dropping plans. Rumors initially suggested that the wedding would take place at the Motera Stadium (now the Narendra Modi Stadium), with an India-England cricket match being rescheduled to accommodate the event.

The venue will be adorned with thousands of exotic lily flowers sourced from around the world, and a record-breaking rangoli will be created by 20,000 to 50,000 artists. The celebrations will light up the night sky with a spectacular drone show featuring 25,000 drones.

Culinary enthusiasts will be treated to a grand feast featuring 3,000 dishes, prepared by chefs from 58 countries. To transport guests in style, over 1,000 luxury cars are expected to be arranged. Invitations will be gold-coated and come with personalized gold coins.

International stars are also rumored to attend, with speculation suggesting that pop icon Taylor Swift might perform at a private event, marking her first visit to India. If this happens, it would be a historic moment for the wedding.

With an estimated cost of ?10,000 crore, this wedding is shaping up to be one of the most extravagant in India’s history. However, Gautam Adani has been quick to clarify that the wedding will not be as grand as some reports suggest. During a recent visit to the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Adani stated that his family’s values are grounded in simplicity and that Jeet’s wedding will be traditional and modest. He also denied rumors about Taylor Swift performing and reassured the media that no major celebrities will be attending the event.

Although Gautam Adani has downplayed the wedding's scale, it is still expected to be a lavish affair. Reports suggest that there will be no more than 300 guests at the ceremony, but this has not been officially confirmed. The venue will feature a stage designed like an opera house with Italian chandeliers, and more than 20 dance performances along with a theatre play are planned for entertainment.

Despite Adani’s claims of simplicity, many are still calling the wedding an extraordinary event. As one Instagram user put it, “If this is their idea of a simple wedding, we wonder what their idea of a grand wedding is. Maybe a private event on the moon?”

While the Ambanis’ wedding was reported to have cost around ?5,000 crore, it will be interesting to see if Jeet Adani’s wedding surpasses that in grandeur or stays as “simple and traditional” as Gautam Adani suggests.

The Adani family’s wedding is already shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events in the country, and we can’t wait to see what unfolds on February 7th.
