Jawan Dies in Road Accident 8 Hours After Having a Baby Girl
An Indian Army jawan died in a road accident just hours before his daughter was born. His funeral with full military honours left the nation heartbroken.
An Indian Army soldier lost his life in a tragic road accident in Maharashtra’s Satara district, just hours before the birth of his daughter. BSF jawan Pramod Jadhav, a resident of the Parli area in Satara, was posted in Ladakh and had returned home on paternity leave for a few days. His wife had already been admitted to a local hospital for delivery.
On 9 January, Pramod was riding his motorcycle towards Vadhe Phata for some personal work. During the journey, a tempo rammed into his bike. He fell onto the road and was then hit by another two-wheeler. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital. Doctors declared him dead at around 10 pm. He passed away without getting the chance to hold his child or experience fatherhood.
Just a few hours later, on the following morning, his wife delivered a baby girl. A day that should have been filled with joy turned into deep sorrow for the family.
After completing medical formalities, Pramod Jadhav’s last rites were held with full military honours. His coffin was draped in the Indian tricolour, and ceremonial gun salutes were given. Patriotic slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed during the funeral.
In a deeply emotional moment, his wife was brought from the hospital on a stretcher to bid him farewell, along with their newborn daughter, who was only eight hours old. Videos shared on social media showed her breaking down as she reached for her husband’s coffin. Another person held the baby close as she unknowingly said goodbye to a father she would never meet.
The heartbreaking scene moved everyone present, including locals, police personnel, and ex-servicemen. The nation mourns this loss and prays for the family’s strength.
