ISRO Launches Earth Monitoring Satellite

Isro launches earth monitoring satellite along with 30 foreign satellites.

On thursday, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), launched a Satellite called hyperspectral imaging satellite(HysIS). It was launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Isro chairman Mr. K Sivan was responsible for this successful launch.

The satellite also carried 30 foreign satellites. 23 of these satellites are from America. For the first time Isro has carried satellites from Australia,Columbia,Malaysia and Spain. The total weight of the satellite is 320kg,

This is an earth observation satellite.It will observe and record data which will be very useful to the country. It can be used for forestry, soil study, detect pollution, military surveillance etc.

In the last 25 years, Isro has launched 52 Indian and 239  foreign satellites from 28 different countries.
