The Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC), an autonomous body under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, has announced several job vacancies.
ISL Instructor (Deaf)
- Number of Posts: 6
- Tenure: 1 year (Contractual)
- Eligibility:
- Passed Class 10+2 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent
- Qualified ISL ‘C’ Level or Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL) recognized by RCI
- Walk-in Interview Details:

- Selection Procedure: Interview and demonstration
English Teacher
- Number of Posts: 1
- Tenure: 3 months (Contractual)
- Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institution
- Minimum 2 years of English teaching experience in any government/private institute/organization
- Excellent ISL skills
- Excellent English communicative, reading, and writing skills
- Working knowledge of lesson planning and material development for teaching English
- Preference: Given to Deaf candidates

- Selection Procedure: English skill test followed by an interview and demo of teaching English to Deaf students
ISL Interpreter
- Number of Posts: 3
- Tenure: 1 year (Contractual)
- Eligibility:
- Minimum 12th pass
- Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (ISL)
- Qualified ISL ‘C’ Level or Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI) course recognized by RCI
- Knowledge of working in MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Walk-in Interview Details:
- Date: 13th August 2024
- Time: 11:00 AM

- Selection Procedure: Skill test to determine proficiency levels, followed by an interview
