Inspired by Drishyam Movie 2 Sons Murder Father

Taking inspiration from the movie Drishyam, two young men killed their own father over his extra-marital affair.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, there was a 43-year-old father, his wife and two sons. His name was Dhananjay Navnath Bansode, and he ran an eatery that mainly sold farsan, a fried snack. One son is Sujit Dhananjay Bansode who is 22 years old, a second-year student at a computer engineering college; and the other son is Abhijit Dhananjay Bansode who is 18 years old and is studying in Class 12. The father was in an extramarital relationship with a Nagpur-based woman through social media and used to have regular arguments with his family, including wife and two sons, over it. The father was adamant about keeping the adulterous relationship. The two brothers then saw the movie Drishyam, and that's when the two brothers decided to kill him.

On 15th December, when the victim was sleeping at night, the accused hit their father with an iron rod, suffocated him to death with a pillow. The two boys burned the body in a farsan bhatti to destroy evidence. To mislead investigation, the suspects lodged a missing complaint at  Mahalunge police station on 19th December. After a technical investigation, the police found that the victim had made several calls to a Nagpur-based woman in the last three years. Upon questioning, the woman claimed that the victim had informed her about an imminent threat to life from his family over the relationship. The victim had also messaged the woman through a social networking site about his fear for life.

The accused have been arrested under Sections 302 (Murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
