Infosys Founder’s Son-in-Law Now UK’s Finance Minister

In a massive elevation, Indian-origin politician Rishi Sunak was appointed the UK's new finance minister by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in an extensive Cabinet reshuffle.

In a massive elevation, Indian-origin politician Rishi Sunak was appointed the UK's new Finance Minister on 13th February 2020 by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This is because of an extensive Cabinet reshuffle. Earlier Pakistani-origin Sajid Javid was the Finance Minister of the UK. He resigned because there was a lot of tension between him and Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister  of the UK. Now Sunak has been appointed as the Finance Minister who was working Under Sajid Javid. 


Sunak is 39-years old and is married to the daughter of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy. He will have to hit the ground running as the UK Budget is due to be tabled next month. In the UK, the Prime Minister and Finance Minister work very closely together.In the UK government, the first most important position is of the PM and the second is the FM.
