In today’s world, mobile phones are one of the most important & significant parts of our lives, but what if they turn out to be a life-threatening weapon? An infant died on 11th of September, after the battery of the mobile phone that was kept on charging through a solar panel exploded in Bareilly, UP. The mobile phone from the Lava company exploded near the cot where the eight-month-old baby girl named Neha was sleeping. The phone, which was purchased six months ago, burst into flames after getting overheated while being plugged in for charging. The infant's father, Sunil Kumar, who works as a labourer, said that they had brought the solar panels for lighting and charging the mobile phones. Talking to the media, he said, "My wife gave our daughter a bath and put her on the cot where the phone was lying. I asked her to put some clothes on the baby and shift her to another cot, but she said that she would do it in a while." After that, Sunil left the house and Kusum went to wash clothes and forgot about the phone that was plugged in for charging. They rushed back to the house when they heard the noises and cries of the baby. By then, the cot had caught fire, and the infant's hands and back were completely burned.  The toddler was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors tried to save the baby girl, but she died during the treatment. So far, the parents have not filed any complaints against anyone. They have not sent the body for post-mortem either. However, they said that action should be taken against the mobile company.

Recently, another similar incident occurred in Delhi when a woman died after her  Redmi 6A smartphone exploded near her on the bed while sleeping.
