IndiGo Bans Kunal Kamra

Kunal Kamra is a well known stand up comedian. Recently he and the famous TV Anchor & Journalist Arnab Goswami have been in the news. On Tuesday, he posted a video on social media. In that video Kunal can be seen politely scolding Arnab and forcing him to talk to Kunal. Let me tell you what exactly happened. On Tuesday, Kamra met Goswami aboard IndiGo's Mumbai-Lucknow flight.Kamra said he first "politely" approached Goswami for a conversation before take-off, however, Arnab "pretended to be on a phone call."
According to Kamra, Arnab called Kamra "mentally unstable" and refused to answer his questions.After take-off, Kamra approached Goswami again.When he approached Arnab he recorded the entire conversation. In the video Kamra asked Arnab whether he was a "coward or a nationalist." Arnab who was wearing his sunglasses did not reply at all and completely ignored Kamra. He kept repeating and asked Arnab to reply.
Kamra then said that he is doing this for Rohith Vemula's mother, because Arnab was discussing Rohith’s caste on his news channel. Rohith Vemula was a Dalit PhD scholar at Hyderabad University. He had committed suicide in 2016. In the video kamra told Arnab to read Rohith’s suicide note so that he ‘becomes human’.This video went viral & IndiGo banned Kamra from taking their flights for six months since "his conduct onboard was unacceptable behavior." Air India & SpiceJet have also banned Kamra.
In response to this ban Kamra said, “At no point was I disruptive and at no point did I not follow orders of the cabin crew or the captain. At no point did I endanger the safety of any passenger on board. The only damage I caused was to the inflated ego to the journalist.
However many legal experts have said that Indigo and other airlines have not followed the proper procedure before issuing the ban. There is no clarity on whether a complaint was filed by passengers, crew or Arnab and whether an investigation is going on. Many have criticised Airlines by saying that when a politician like Pragya Thakur delays flight and throws a tantrum no one bans her.
