Indian Railways to Provide Massages in Trains
For the first time, the Indian Railways plans to introduce massage services on certain long distance trains, for convenience of passengers.
Since the beginning of the Indian Railways, for the first time, passengers will be able to access massage services on the long distance running trains.The Railways had asked their zones and divisions to come up with new and innovative ideas to increase revenue for the railways. This idea of providing massages emerged from there. As of now, 39 trains will have this facility. All of these 39 trains, will be departing from Indore. These trains include the Dehradun-Indore Express, the New Delhi- Indore Intercity Express, Indore- Amritsar Express etc. Rajesh Bajpai is the Director of media and communication on the Railway Board. He said that this is the first time that such a contract has been signed.
Massages will be provided to passengers to improve their comfort on the train. This will not only increase the railways revenue, but also attract more passengers to use the trains. This service will begin in the next 15-20 days. The massage service will be available from 6 am to 10 pm. Three to five massage providers will travel on each train. The railways will give them special identity cards.The railways will earn an additional revenue of Rs 20 lakhs per year. There will also be an increase of Rs 90 lakhs per year, by the sale of additional tickets.
