Indian Government Begins Vaccinating Foreigners

India now has five vaccines to offer to its citizens. Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V, Moderna &  Johnson and Johnsons. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Twitter that, Foreign nationals residing can now get vaccinated in India. The minister has said that, “ Many foreigners are living in India, especially in large cities. In these areas, the risk of spread of Covid-19 is high due to higher population. Inorder to prevent the spread of the virus, the Indian government has allowed them to take the vaccine. The foreign individuals will have to register through the CoWIN website, using their passport as an identity document for the registration.” The centre is currently running a national vaccination programme to jab all the individuals above the age of 18. As on 9th August, 2021, India has administered more than 51 crore vaccine doses across the country.
