Indian Company Imposes 1 Lakh Fine for Disturbing Colleagues

Indian fantasy sports platform Dream 11 has now imposed a new policy which restricts its employee to disturb their colleagues on an off day.

If you are a salaried person and employed with an organisation, the most irritating thing for you can be a colleague disturbing you when you are on leave or enjoying your vacation on an off day. However, a tech company is now trying to bring a resolution to this problem. Interestingly, its an Indian company that has given thought to this major problem so that their employees can enjoy interruption-free vacations.

Indian fantasy sports company Dream 11 is the company that has adopted an interesting policy called the "Dream 11 Unplug" to solve this problem. Dream 11, founded in 2008, has more than 15 crore users at present. Under this "UNPLUG" policy, the company's staff can completely cut off from all office work, related conversations (on emails, WhatsApp group, Slack, or calls), and co-workers for a week without any pressure. Dream 11 in their statement has said they are doing this because they understand that spending quality time with loved ones or just relaxing altogether on a vacation can immensely improve the overall mood, quality of life, productivity in general. Dream 11 founders Harsh Jain and Bhavit Seth asserted that if any co-worker reaches out to another employee during the "UNPLUG" time, then he/she has to pay a fine of about 1 lakh rupees.

Notably, from top bosses to a fresher, everyone can sign out from the company's system for a week at this Sports technology company every year. Jain and Seth told they have adopted this method to make sure their company is not dependent on any one of the employee. What do you think about this great initiative taken by Dream 11?
