India to End all COVID Rules From 31 March 2022

The Centre has decided to lift all COVID-19 restrictions throughout the country after March 31.

On March 24, 2020, the central government, for the first time, issued the orders and directions under the  Disaster Management Act (DM Act), 2005, to contain the spread of COVID-19 throughout the country. The states and union territories have also been following all the rules ordered by the Ministry of Health from time to time. There have been rules such as limited people in hotels, theatres, malls, gyms being shut, curfews, lockdowns, etc. The COVID-19 situation in India has improved, as shown by a decrease in current cases and a lower weekly positive rate. In a letter to all state chief secretaries, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that the public is now much more aware of COVID-appropriate behaviour. This is why from 31st March all COVID rules will be removed. But wearing masks will be mandatory. People still need to remain watchful of the situation. He said whenever there is an increase in the number of cases, states and UTs may take quick proactive action at the local level.

Now isn’t that wonderful! It seems like now life will almost go back to normal. But remember to wear masks. If you see anyone who has a cold or a cough, take precautionary measures. Wear masks, maintain social distance and sanitize your hands. Governments worldwide are starting to reduce or eliminate COVID restrictions. England, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Denmark and Italy have removed many COVID restrictions and removed the mask rule in public. Even Canada has removed mask rules in public but they have to be worn at airports and in public transport. So how do feel that now India is slowly going back to normal? If the mask rule is removed in India, would you feel comfortable roaming without a mask? Let us know in the comments below?
