India Slams Pakistan After Attack On Hindu Temple

The Indian government has recently slammed Pakistan over some recent attacks on Hindu temples and Hindu’s in Pakistan

The Shri Mari Mata Mandir, is a hindu temple in Karachi, Pakistan. The temple is still  under-construction. In the start of June, idols were brought by the priest to be installed in the temple. On the night of 8th June 2022 a Pakistani mob attacked the temple. The priest stays in the temple as well. The mob attacked the priest and started breaking the idols. Eyewitnesses said six to eight individuals on motorcycles attacked the complex.

No arrests have been made by Pakistan police so far. Hindus living in the area are now living in fear after the incident. Temples in Pakistan are often the target of mob violence. Last October, a historical temple located in Sindh's Kotri was attacked and destroyed by some  unidentified people. Soon after this, the Indian government was seen badly condemning this act against the Hindu community in Pakistan.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “Karachi Hindu Temple vandalism is another targetted attack on Hindu’s in Pakistan. We have conveyed our protest to the Pakistan government, urging them to ensure safety, security and well-being of its minority communities.” Activists say human rights for women, minorities, children, media, etc. in Pakistan are in a very bad condition. Forced conversion of minor Hindu, Sikh, and Christian girls, have become an increasingly common phenomenon in the country. Earlier Pakistan had slammed Nupur Sharma for her insulting comments on Prophet Mohammed. They had said India should respect all religions but now they themselves are destroying Hindu temples.
