Gay Mayor Could be the next POTUS

Pete Buttigieg is an openly gay candidate running for elections.

Pete Buttigieg, is the first openly gay candidate to run for elections, to become the President of the United States of America. Winning this election would make him the youngest President ever.

His CV is “sparkling”. It is soo perfect, that comedians are begging “Mayor Pete” to make some mistake so that the comedians can make jokes on him.

He has graduated from Harvard University, he also attended Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar. He has served as an intelligence officer in the US Navy from 2009-2017, he was deployed in the war in Afghanistan in 2014, and has got the rank of lieutenant.

He was elected Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, in 2011, when he was just 29 years old and was  re elected in 2015. People praised him for his policies that helped in restoring the “dead” town.

His ancestors are from Malta, and he’s a Maltese American. He also speaks several languages like Maltese, Spanish, Italian, French, Arabic, Farsi, and Norwegian, which he learnt only to be able to read a book.

A major concern is, can “Mayor Pete” win this election? Well, if Obama could win the elections in 2008, and Trump- a thrice married reality star win the 2016 elections, then why not a multi lingual (polyglot) homosexual, with an impressive resume, military experience, and executive experience.

Some small polls have revealed that among 18 candidates he is not very far behind from Vice President Joe Biden, and Bernie Sanders. He is even ahead of better-known candidates like Senators Elizabeth Warren, and Kamala Harris.

The policies of Pete have faced criticism for being unthorough, but the main ideas of his policy, have appeased the young liberals. These ideas are of universal healthcare, abolition of death penalty, background checks for the purchase of firearms, laws that would prevent discrimination of the LGBT for jobs etc, programmes for migrants’ children, dealing with inequality of wealth, and an affordable education.
