Gautam Gambhir Retires from Cricket

Gautam Gambhir retires from cricket and might pursue a career in politics.

37 year old opening batsman, Gautam Gambhir, yesterday announced to retire from all forms of cricket.

Gautam has had a very long career. He has played 58 Test matches , 147 ODIs and 27 T20 matches. He even captained for the Kolkata Knight Riders and led them to victory in twice in 2012 and 2014. He was the captain for Delhi Daredevils as well. The Ranji match between Delhi and Andhra Pradesh will be last match.He was initially supposed to play the IPL too but later decided not.

Gautams recent visit with the Minister of Finance, Arun Jaitley sparked rumours that his retirement was because he wanted to enter politics. There has been no confirmation regarding this yet.

He said that retirement was on his mind for a long time and he has now finally made up his mind.
