Professional wrestler Dalip Singh Rana aka The Great Khali has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Professional wrestler Dalip Singh Rana aka The Great Khali joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 10th February. Khali joined the party just a few days before the Punjab elections. Election in Punjab is on 20th February  and the counting of votes will take place on 10th March. At the BJP's headquarter in New Delhi Khali said, "I'm glad to have joined the BJP. I feel that PM Modi's work for the nation makes him the right Prime Minister. So, I thought why not be a part of his government for the nation's development," In 2020, Khali had lent support to the farmers protesting in Delhi borders against the Central government’s farm laws. The wrestler had appealed to people of India to support the agitating farmers. This is the first time he is joining politics. He has served as an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Punjab Police. He has also featured in four Hollywood films, two Bollywood films, and several television shows. Khali made his professional wrestling debut in 2000. In 2006, Khali became the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed to a contract by the WWE. He then became famous for his stint in the WWE and went on to win several championships.
