In between the massive political crisis happening in  Maharashtra, another big politician & Shiv Sena Minister Uday Samant has recently joined the rebel MLA Eknath Shinde group. Uday Samant, who was unreachable since Sunday morning of 26th June, reached Guwahati via a chartered plane from Surat with three more passengers, including his personal secretary and a Shiv Sena worker from Thane. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray is left with just one minister from the party who is MLA, and it's his own son Aaditya Thackeray. Also the rebel Shiv Sena MLA gang led by Eknath Shinde moved the Supreme Court on Sunday 26th June, challenging the petition filed by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, seeking to disqualify 16 legislators for breaching the protocols by not attending the party meeting earlier this week, before the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker  Narhari Zirwal.

Meanwhile, the Central government has provided Y+ category security cover of armed Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to 15 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs of Maharashtra minister Eknath Shinde's camp. This comes as the ongoing political crisis in the state is showing no sign of heading towards a resolution. Amid the escalating tensions between Maharashtra’s ruling coalition partner Shiv Sena and its rebel faction, the  Mumbai Police on Saturday imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), which disallows movement and unlawful assembly of five or more people, in the city. Police personnel have also been deployed outside the offices and residences of political parties and leaders, an official source with the matter said.
