Drunk TTE Urinates on Woman Passenger In Train

A Railways Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) was sacked from his position on Tuesday after he allegedly urinated on a woman onboard the Akal Takht Express.

In yet another ‘peeing’ incident - this time in a train - a ‘drunk’ Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) allegedly urinated on a woman's head in Akal Takht Express. An off-duty Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE), Munna Kumar was travelling on Akal Takht Express which is from Kolkata to Amritsar. A couple who are residents of Bihar and had boarded the train at Kiul Junction. The TTE and the couple were travelling in compartment A1. On 12th March 2023 night, the train was about to enter Charbagh railway station in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The wife was sleeping on the lower berth, Munna Kumar came and urinated on her head. When the wife raised an alarm, all the passengers gathered and caught hold of the TTE and thrashed him. They then handed him over to the police. The husband alleged that the TTE was in a drunken state. The accused was arrested by Lucknow Government Railway Police (GRP) and an FIR was lodged against him.  

 

Lucknow GRP said the TTE, Munna Kumar is from Begusarai in Bihar, and was posted in Saharanpur. However on the night of the incident, he was travelling as a fellow passenger and was not on duty

Munna Kumar was sacked by the Railways for his conduct. Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted, “Zero tolerance. Removal from service with immediate effect,” He also shared a copy of the removal order by Railway which stated, “Your conduct showing disrespect to women was serious misconduct. It has brought disrepute not only to your own self but entire railways as an organization. It is also seen that you are in judicial custody. Thus, I hereby deem it fit to impose the punishment of ‘removal from service with immediate effect’ for behaviour unbecoming of a railway servant.” This is the fourth such incident in the last few months when a passenger has urinated on a fellow passenger in an inebriated state. The last three incidents took place on an airplane.
