Drunk British Navy Officer Creates Ruckus in Chennai

A drunk British Royal Navy officer was seen running around shirtless, biting people and creating a ruckus outside a mall in Royapettah, Chennai in a video gone viral on social media.

A video from the roads of Chennai has gone viral on social video. The video shows a drunk foreigner man running around shirtless trying to bite the passing bikers outside a mall in the Royapettah area of Chennai. He caught hold of one the biker in black outfit, grabbed him and tried to bite him. The bike rider was shocked. 2-3 police officers then physically held the drunk man and dragged him away to  the footpath. The incident happened on the night of 31st March 2024. Cops present on the spot, immediately intervened & moved him away from the biker & the heavy traffic. The Chennai police later identified the drunk man as J L Willis.  Willis is a crew member of one of the 2 United Kingdom's Royal Navy ships.These 2 Royal Navy ships have been anchored at Larsen and Toubro's shipbuilding facility at Kattupalli, Chennai for maintenance. Upon interrogation police learnt that Willis visited the mall in Royapettah with 24 other individuals on the afternoon of the same day. While the rest were shopping inside, Willis went to a bar & got drunk. Later, Willis came out & started picking up fights with people entering the mall. People gathered around and rounded him up and pushed him. Some even tied Willis's hands and were planning to take him to the police station when his colleagues arrived and tried to pacify the situation. But by that time, the drunk Willis ran towards the road outside the mall. The police were informed and immediately rushed to the area to control the situation. The police then interrogated him, and soon his fellow navy officers also reached there. Police did not register any case against Willis and allowed him to go with his colleagues.
