Former Miss Switzerland Contestant Accuses Trump of Rape in 1993

Beatrice Keul, a Swiss model and former Miss Switzerland contestant, has accused US President Donald Trump of raping her at New York's Plaza Hotel in November 1993.

The allegation was included in a report released by Democrats on the US House Judiciary Committee on October 26, 2026. Keul was 24 years old at the time of the alleged incident. The White House has strongly denied the allegation. Trump has not been charged in connection with this claim.

What Does the Report Say?

According to the report, Keul was invited to attend the Donald J. Trump American Dream Pageant in November 1993. Jill Harth, who organised the event, recruited her for the competition. The pageant was held in Atlantic City and New York and involved young women interested in modelling.

During a press luncheon at the Plaza Hotel in New York, Keul met Trump. She told committee staff that Trump offered to help her obtain a US visa and secure admission to New York University (NYU). She also met Jeffrey Epstein, who introduced himself as Trump's close friend. According to Keul, Epstein made similar offers of help and invited her to a party at Trump's Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

What Has Beatrice Keul Alleged?

Keul told committee staff that later that day, a representative of Trump invited her to meet him in a hotel suite. She said she accepted the invitation because she believed the meeting could help her career and education.

According to her account, Trump grabbed her from behind and raped her by force. She said he tore her dress and left her with bleeding and bruises. Keul described the alleged assault as brutal. She also claimed that Trump repeated his offers to help with her US visa and university admission after the incident. He allegedly asked her to remain silent and told her, "The show must go on."

What Happened After the Alleged Incident?

Keul returned to Switzerland after the pageant. She declined to participate in another competition sponsored by Trump in Hawaii. According to the report, Trump contacted her several months later and again offered to help arrange her visa and admission to NYU. She declined his offers.

The report also discusses the wider connections between Trump, Epstein and the modelling and beauty pageant industry during the 1990s. It includes accounts from several women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct.

How Has the White House Responded?

The White House has strongly denied Keul's allegations. White House spokesperson Lauren Bis told People magazine that none of the allegations were true. She described the report as a political attempt to damage Trump's reputation ahead of the US midterm elections.

Bis also said Trump had removed Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago property because he was, in her words, "a creep". She further claimed that Trump had been fully cleared in connection with Epstein. The allegation against Trump has not been established in court, and he has not been charged in connection with Keul's claim.
