Doctor Refuses to Leave Ukraine Without Pet Jaguar & Panther

An Indian doctor in Ukraine has refused to come back to India if the government does not allow him to take his pet Jaguar & Panther along with him.

Dr Girikumar Patil, Who is a doctor from Andhra Pradesh currently working in Ukraine, has been recording his struggles in taking care of his two  pet Jaguar & black panther. Girikumar Patil comes from Tanuku town in Andhra Pradesh. He is also trying to arrange food for them during the ongoing war. Kumar is an orthopedic doctor. He completed his MBBS Degree in Ukraine and later decided to settle there. He is known by the name of Jaguar Kumar on Instagram. He also has three pet dogs in Ukraine. Even when hundreds of Indian students are stuck in Ukraine waiting for rescue this Indian doctor in Ukraine is facing a unique issue. 

He is living inside a bunker below his house in Ukraine along with his Two Pets. He has a jaguar named Yagwar and a black panther named Sabrina. He has been seen regularly documenting his struggles while taking care of the two big cats in order to arrange food for them on his YouTube channel ‘Jaguar Kumar Telugu’, which has over 84,000 subscribers. In his recent media interviews conducted before the ongoing war began, he expressed  his love for animals since childhood.

He had this wish to raise animals as his own  pets after watching a Chiranjeevi (A very famous South Indian actor) Lankeswarudu film as a kid. He also said that He was fascinated by Chiranjeevi’s acts with the tiger & saw the movie many times for both Chiranjeevi and the tiger. Patil  was once an aspiring actor as well, He failed several times when he attempted to adopt a lion cub or a Bengal tiger cub. But later about 2 Years ago, He got a call from a local zoo that they had a jaguar in poor health and was seeking medical help. After the animal was treated and its health was restored, Dr Patil said he obtained necessary permissions and brought the Jaguar home. And recently, he brought home Sabrina, a black panther.

Speaking about the expenses and difficulties of raising them, he said that he began making YouTube videos hoping for supplementary income which can help him to take care of his pets. In his videos on Youtube, Dr Patil is seen documenting the difficulties of surviving the ongoing war with a jaguar and a panther for pets,

Also he showcased  his struggles in order to arrange sufficient food for them. Several suggestions were made by viewers that he should release them in the wild, In reply to which he said that he is afraid they would end up being hunted. 


Also He mentioned that leaving them at a zoo is also a difficult option as it would require him to travel 1,200 km which is nearly impossible because of the ongoing war. A few Days before the war started, Dr Kumar said in a video that, “Until my last moment I will strive to protect them. There is no way I will leave the kids behind. We just have to survive at any cost.” Speaking to The New Indian Express, he said he hoped that the Indian government would allow him to bring home his pets, which also include three dogs. Several Indian citizens returning from Ukraine have brought their pets,which were mainly cats and dogs.
