Deepak Chahar Proposes to Girlfriend During IPL Match
Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar was all smiles despite Chennai Super Kings' loss to Punjab Kings as the bowler proposed to his girlfriend after the match.
Yesterday on 7 October Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Punjab Kings (PBK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. CSK lost the match and Punjab won. The full CSK team was very sad but after the match something happened which made the team very happy. CSK bowler Deepak Chahar did not play very well in the match. He scored only one wicket and 48 runs. After the game, Deepak Chahar reached the stands where his girlfriend was waiting for him. He then dropped to one knee with a ring in front of the fans and his teammates to propose to his girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj who immediately said yes. Jaya works in a corporate firm in Delhi and is the sister of Bigg Boss fame Sidharth Bhardwaj. She traveled to UAE with Chahar for IPL 2021 and is expected to tie the knot with the cricketer upon their return to India.
Chahar had spoken to his CSK captain MS Dhoni about his intentions to pop the question to his girlfriend during the IPL 2021. However, Dhoni had advised Chahar to propose anytime before the playoffs. So that the players don’t get distracted as the playoffs are an important stage. Now that Deepak Chahar has proposed, the entire team is very happy and congratulates the couple.
