DEEDS Public Charitable Trust, an NGO based in Mumbai, is making significant strides in empowering the Deaf community by providing various skill-based courses and helping them secure jobs. Let's take a closer look at the courses offered by DEEDS for the Deaf.

Cookery Course

DEEDS Catering Institute offers a one-year course in cookery, which includes 2 theory papers and 2 practical papers. Students will learn 100 recipes from different cuisines. This course is affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Education (MSBVE), and at the end of the course, an examination will be conducted by MSBVE. Job placement in reputable hotel kitchens is guaranteed. This course is open to students living in Mumbai and India. However, students need to arrange their own accommodation.

Eligibility and Documents Required:

- SSC pass certificate

- 18 years and above

- Knowledge of Indian Sign Language (ISL)

- Hearing Disability certificate from a government agency

Trade Training

DEEDS offers a 45-day training program in retail, housekeeping, and hospitality, which guarantees a job upon completion. There are no specific qualifications required for this program.

Eligibility and Documents Required:

- 18 years and above

- Hearing Disability certificate from a government agency

Basic Computer Skills with Basic English

This 90-day training program covers basic computer skills and English. SSC pass is required to enroll. Job placement is guaranteed after completing the training.

Tally, GST, Banking & Finance

DEEDS offers a 6-month course in Tally, GST, Banking, and Finance. This course is available to B.Com graduates and assures a job at the end of the course.

- Hearing Disability certificate from a government agency

All vocational courses are conducted in English through the medium of ISL (Indian Sign Language).
