Deaf Mother Throws 39-Day Baby From 14th Floor

In a shocking news, a Deaf mother throws a 39-day old Deaf baby from the 14th floor building in Mumbai.

A 28 year old Deaf woman flung her 39-day-old baby girl from the 14th floor of her building in Mulund, Mumbai. Let me tell you. The incident took place in Mulund's Neelkanth Apartment building. The woman, Manali Mehta, had come to Mulund, her parents' home from Surat, her husband’s home.

Manali had a 39 day old baby girl, Hashvi. Last year Manali lost her 8 month old son due to illness. A few days back, her father too passed away. According to several newspapers, Manali’s father loved baby Hashvi immensely. After his death, whenever Manali saw the baby, she missed her father more. Manali was depressed due to these 2 tragedies. She often told the family that her father was calling Hashvi. On 20th September night, she repeatedly told the family that her father was calling Hashvi again. But her family paid no attention to this and went to sleep. On 21st September 2023, between 4am and 6.30 am Manali opened the bedroom window on the 14th floor and threw her 39-day-old baby Hashvi down. The baby was lying on the roof of a shop below the building. Later in the morning, a resident of the building saw the body of a little girl lying on the roof of the shop. He immediately contacted the police.

A police team with the help of residents recovered the baby girl and rushed her to MT Agarwal Hospital in Mulund where she was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, other police teams enquired with the residents of the building and confirmed that a baby was residing on the 14th floor of the neighbouring building. The police found that the mother and father of the baby are Deaf. The police noticed that Manali was under a lot of mental stress due to the death of her father and that she was undergoing medical treatment. Police initially registered an accidental death report (ADR) but now registered a murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The woman is presently being questioned with the help of her family. The police will soon take a decision about her arrest as they want to be sure if she was really under depression or was it something else.
