Deaf Couple Found Dead in Surat, Gujarat
A deaf couple were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of a flat in Gujarat's Surat on Tuesday 16th February.
A deaf couple were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of a flat in Gujarat's Surat on Tuesday 16th February. The couple Dhruti aged 21 and Arpit Patel aged 24 had got engaged two weeks ago on 31st January 2021. They were set to get married in April. Dhruti did saree embroidery work while Arpit worked in a mall. Dhruti was visiting her in-laws' house and had been staying there since the last five days.
On the fateful day when Arpit’s sister returned home in the evening she did not find her brother Arpit and Dhruti so she searched the house and found Arpit and Dhruti’s bodies in the bathroom. The sister informed 108 and the police. On receiving the news, a police team immediately reached the site.
Dr. Nisha Chandra said that samples of Dhruti and Arpit’s lungs have been sent to the laboratory for testing. Initial probe shows that the couple died because of suffocation by. But the exact cause of death would be known after the lab reports. A police official said that the door of the bathroom was open and the tap was running when the bodies were found. The police officer too said that further investigation is on and updates would be informed.
