DC Beat SRH in Super Over & Jadeja Hammers 37 Run in an Over

Delhi Capitals Beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first super over of IPL 2021. In another match Ravindra Jadeja created history in IPL by scoring 37 runs in a single over.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals on Sunday 25th April ended in a tie. Delhi Capitals chose to bat first. They got off to a good start as the openers put up 81 for the first wicket. But then both the players were dismissed in quick succession. Delhi Capitals managed 159/4 in 20 overs. SRH’s chase started with a bang, but SRH lost wickets at regular intervals. It was Kane Williamson who held his fort and because of his 66 not out , SRH level the score at 159/7. The match went to a Super Over. This was the first Super over of IPL 2021. In the Super Over, Axar Patel bowled for DC to bowl. He bowled extremely well and SRH were able to get only 7 runs. SRH had actually scored 8 runs, however there was a short run. So that was deducted. Hence the score was 7 runs.  

Rashid Khan bowled for SRH and DC sent Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan to bat. The game came down to 1 off 1, which DC managed to get. If SRH had not missed that 1 run, the super over would also be a tie. In another IPL 2021 match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Harshal Patel came in to bowl the last over for RCB. He was up against Ravindra Jadeja and what happened after that is history! Ravindra Jadeja scored 37 runs in the last over. This is the highest in the history of IPL. Jadeja’s amazing sequence of hitting in that over was: 6,6,6 (off the no-ball) 6 (free hit),2,6,4. Jadeja became the seventh batsman in T20 history to score 36 runs from a single over. He joins the list alongside Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard.
