Complete Lockdown in Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Karnataka
Karnataka, Kerala & Tamil Nadu have imposed a complete lockdown to curb the spread of the virus.
On Friday 7th May, Karnataka reported 48,781 new COVID-19 cases in one day and 592 deaths, while Kerala registered 38,460 infections in one day and 54 deaths. Because of this Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced a complete lockdown in kerala from 8 May to 16 May. Only essential services will be allowed to work. Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa also announced a two-week lockdown in the state from May 10 to May 24. Essential goods and services like food, medicine, milk, fruits and vegetables, etc will be available from 6 am to 10 am. Now a complete lockdown for 14 days will be imposed in Tamil Nadu to stop the spread of Covid-19 infection in the state. The Tamil Nadu government has imposed a complete lockdown in the state from May 10 till May 24. During the complete lockdown from May 10, vegetable, meat and fish shops and provisional stores will be allowed to operate only till 12 noon. All other shops will remain closed. Only essential services will be allowed to operate. Dr Anthony Fauci, USA's top health expert has advised India to go for a massive COVID vaccination drive and impose a month-long lockdown to control the spread of the virus. Now we will have to wait and see what happens.
