Colonel Booked For Terrorising Farmers

An Indian Army Colonel takes on 30-40 jawans from Hyderabad to Pune area for a dispute with other farmers and his family, terrorising them and destroying there farmland

In the village of Gulani which is the rural area of Pune located about 54km from the Nashik highway, a dispute between two families and the family of an Indian Army Colonel on June 14th, the three families were fighting over a 62-acre farmland, the dispute became violent and the police had to be called to calm everyone down.     

On June 22nd the Colonel who is posted in Hyderabad arrived at the farmland with 30-40 armed jawans in full uniform who all arrived in military vehicles with the Colonel, they terrorising the other families and not letting them access the farm, the jawans made a blockade around the farmland as the Colonel himself drove a tractor and plough through the fields destroying them.

The families say that they were restrained and not allowed to access the land.

Sandeep Patil, the rural superintendent of Pune said that all the jawans were armed when the reached the village in military vehicles, the colonel was also with them. The Jawans stood guard around the farm as the colonel and his family ploughed the land. 

The colonel says this is not true and is being framed by the other families and ruin the image of the Army.
