Coldplay Kiss-Cam Scandal: Astronomer CEO’s Affair Goes Viral

Coldplay’s kiss-cam exposed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron with his HR head, sparking scandal. His wife dropped his surname and trolls chased him off LinkedIn.

One small kiss-cam moment at a Coldplay concert has created a huge drama, both in the office and on social media.

Coldplay, the famous British band, is known for hit songs like Yellow and Fix You. During their concerts, they show fun moments on the “Kiss Cam,” where couples are shown on big screens. But on 16 July 2025, the Kiss Cam caught something shocking.

At a US Coldplay concert, the Kiss Cam showed Andy Byron, 50-year-old CEO of a software company called Astronomer, in a cosy moment with Kristin Cabot, the company’s Head of HR. The big shock — both Byron and Cabot were married to other people.

Coldplay’s singer Chris Martin even joked on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” making the crowd laugh. But soon, the video went viral, and the real drama started.

After the viral clip, many people on social media said Byron and Cabot were having an office affair. Some people also saw another company director nearby in the video, which made people believe that many in the company already knew.

Soon, Astronomer’s board started a formal investigation. On 19 July 2025, Andy Byron resigned. He was replaced by the company’s co-founder Pete DeJoy for the time being. Astronomer said no other staff were involved except Byron and Cabot.

Cabot was sent on leave. Reports say she may be suspended, but there is no official confirmation about her job.

Byron’s wife Rachel, after almost 20 years of marriage, quickly reacted. She removed “Byron” from her last name on all her social media accounts. Many people took this as her silent way of leaving the relationship.

Some rumours on the internet even said Byron’s wife planned the kiss-cam moment by talking to the Coldplay cameraman, but there is no proof of this.

Kristin Cabot also comes from a rich family from Boston and was already divorced once in 2022. Both Byron and Cabot have not given any public statement after the incident.

Meanwhile, social media turned the story into a viral meme fest. People started calling it “#ColdplayGate” with funny memes, joke merchandise, and sarcastic comments.

Byron’s LinkedIn profile was full of trolls. People wrote fake endorsements like “expert in HR relations” and “Kiss Cam PR expert”. The trolling became so bad that Byron hid or deactivated his LinkedIn profile. Still, screenshots and jokes spread everywhere.

Even Coldplay singer Chris Martin and country singer Morgan Wallen later joked about it in their concerts, showing how big the drama became.

What started as a 5-second concert moment has now become a huge scandal — affecting marriages, a company’s reputation, and social media trends.

Astronomer is still investigating, and many are watching closely to see what happens next.
