Chanting of Jai Bhim on Ambedkar Anniversary

Yesterday, being the anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the country witnessed top politicians, among others, who chanted praises to him.

The birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, was celebrated on 14th April 2019.  Amidst the race to the elections, this anniversary gave political parties a chance to display themselves as keeping in synch with the ideals of Ambedkar, and showing as though they have a legacy with him.

Top political leaders, were led by PM Modi, to pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar

After visiting the Ambedkar memorial in New Delhi, PM Modi tweeted his tribute to Dr. Ambedkar, while calling him the maker of our constitution, and the promulgator of social justice. He also tweeted their slogan - Jai Bhim.

Later in the day, at a rally at Moradabad- Uttar Pradesh, he claimed that it was the “strength” of the constitution by Ambedkar, that today, a chaiwalla (tea vendor) is become Prime Minister of the country.

At yet another rally, in Kathua-Jammu and Kashmir, Modi paid tribute to Ambedkar, by beginning his rally with the slogan “Jai Bhim”

Jai Bhim, is the favourite slogan of all dalit outfits, who idolise Ambedkar.

The leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati also paid homage to Ambedkar, while she greeted his followers, to ensure that his struggle for humanity is carried on, and ideals are fulfilled.

Amit Shah, party president of the BJP said that BSP remembers Ambedkar only during elections, however, BSP head Mayawati said that BSP takes inspiration from Ambedkar every day and works for the welfare of all communities.
