CBI Closes Sushant Singh Rajput Case, Clears Rhea Chakraborty
Disha Salian’s family has demanded a fresh CBI investigation into her death, while the CBI has closed Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, ruling it as suicide.
Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case:
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death in June 2020 shocked the nation. Reports said he died by suicide, but many believed there was more to the story. His manager, Disha Salian, had also died just a week earlier.
Disha allegedly fell from a 14th-floor balcony in Malad after attending a party with her fiancé, Rohan Rai, and friends. Some reports said she was drunk, while others claimed she had an argument before the fall. Mumbai Police declared it an accident, but rumors suggested powerful people were involved.
Six days later, Sushant died, leading to speculation that the two cases were linked. Some believed he was disturbed by Disha’s death, while others thought he was silenced to prevent him from revealing something. His case was later handed over to the CBI.
Now, Disha’s family has approached the Bombay High Court, demanding a fresh investigation. Her father, Satish Salian, wants a case filed against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and the case to be given to the CBI. He believes Disha was murdered and the truth was covered up for political reasons. He also claims Mumbai Police closed the case without proper investigation.
In a news interview, Satish Salian said he found the crime scene suspicious and does not believe his daughter’s death was an accident. He says new information has come to light, strengthening the need for a fresh probe.
Shiv Sena (UBT) has questioned the timing of the allegations, saying the CID and a Special Investigation Team have already looked into the case. Aaditya Thackeray denied all claims, calling it a political conspiracy.
Meanwhile, after five years of investigation, the CBI has closed the Sushant Singh Rajput case, saying it was suicide and Rhea Chakraborty was not guilty. Rhea’s lawyer called it a clear case of suicide, and actress Dia Mirza demanded an apology from the media for blaming her.
