Case Filed Against 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' Actor

Police have registered a case against television actor Munmun Dutta in Indore for allegedly using an objectionable word against a Scheduled Caste community.

Actor Munmun Dutta plays the role of Babita in "Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah". This is a very famous TV serial. A video of hers has gone viral on social media. In the video she is demonstrating her make-up techniques. She used a casteist slur And said she wants to look good and doesn’t want to look like members of a particular Scheduled Caste. This video of hers went viral. People were very angry that she used casteist slur. Munmun issued an apology statement saying, “One word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent to insult, intimidate, humiliate or hurt anyone’s feelings. Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of its meaning, I immediately took the part down. I have utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to our society or nation.” Upset netizens are now demanding the actress be arrested for her disrespectful remark. Now the Akhil Bharatiya Balai Mahasangh president Manoj Parmar, has filed an FIR against Munmun Dutta for hurting the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community.
