Captain Cool MS Dhoni Retires From IPL?

After Chennai Super Kings 5th time win of IPL title, is MS Dhoni retiring? Check out the details.

Chennai Super Kings have been crowned champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The Yellow Army defeated Gujarat Titans in a run-curtailed final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, to claim a record-equalling fifth title. CSK have captured their fifth IPL title. They previously lifted the trophy in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. Both CSK and Mumbai Indians own five IPL titles now. Gujarat Titans racked up a mammoth 214/4 against Chennai Super Kings. A substantial start from Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha fueled the Titans before Sai Sudharsan took over. He smashed an incredible 96 to light up the innings. CSK were 4/0 in 0.3 overs while chasing a mammoth 215 when the downpour started. The Yellow Army will chase a revised target of 171 in 15 overs. CSK chased down 171 after incessant rain truncated the original target of 215.
After the match, and the long presentation ceremony where all the awards were presented, the winning skipper was finally called upon, and presenter Harsha Bhogle did not waste another moment by jumping right to the main question. Dhoni admitted that it was probably the right time for him to bid adieu to the sport by announcing his retirement from IPL, but like any typical answer, there was more to it. Crediting the fans for their unparalleled support throughout the season, Dhoni announced that he remains open to playing another season. The CSK skipper mentioned that he would want to make a comeback next year as well. Despite knowing that it might be physically even more demanding given his age, 41, and his ongoing knee condition, Dhoni added that he has nine months to take the big call on his IPL 2024 participation.
