Bengaluru Hospital found dead bodies rotting in their morgue. Watch our videos for more details!

In July 2020 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the city was witnessing a surge in cases and hospitals were under strain. In Bengaluru, the civic body Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was overseeing the hospital bed situation and had also taken control of a part of the beds in private hospitals to ensure people in need can get admitted. Durga Sumithra, 40, and Muniraju, in his 50s, died on July 2 last year, at Employees' State Insurance Corporation and Model Hospital at Rajajinagar in Bengaluru. However, the bodies of these two patients were not handed to the families. The hospital had said there is a risk of infection, and the hospital had cremated their bodies.

A year later, the hospital contacted the families and gave them a huge shock. The families were informed that the bodies of their loved ones were actually rotting in the hospital's morgue after housekeeping staff chanced upon them and alerted authorities. A postmortem will be conducted and then the bodies will be handed over to the families. The families are very shocked by this. People are very unhappy with the hospital’s negligence and an inquiry has been launched into the matter.
