Bill Gates made his money through ‘Microsoft’ a company he co-founded in the 1970s. Now Microsoft, the world's biggest software company. Bill Gates met his wife Melinda Gates in 1987 when she joined Microsoft. They fell in love and got married. Bill and Melinda are now the 4th world's wealthiest couples. They have a joint fortune estimated at $130 billion. The Gates have given billions into charitable work around the globe via their Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill & Melinda posted a joint statement on Twitter which said: 

"After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to help people. We will continue working together for our foundation but we can’t be together as a couple anymore.” The statement has not mentioned the reason for their split. Both have asked for the media to respect their privacy.
