Bhopal Sex Scandal: Hindu Girls Raped, Forced to Convert
Bhopal sex scandal: College girls drugged, raped, blackmailed, and pressured to convert, sparking outrage and SIT probe.
A horrifying case of sexual assault has come to light in Bhopal, where several college girls were allegedly drugged, raped, blackmailed, and even pressured to change their religion. The case reminds many of the infamous 1992 Ajmer sex scandal.
What Happened in Bhopal?
Two sisters studying B.Tech filed a police complaint against a man named Farhan and his friends. The elder sister said she met Farhan in college in 2022. One day, he took her to a friend’s house, raped her, and recorded the act. He then threatened to leak the video unless she converted to Islam and followed his demands.
Later, Farhan targeted her younger sister, introducing her to his friend, who molested and raped her. Both sisters were drugged during these attacks. When they resisted religious conversion, the accused threatened to defame them using their videos.
How the Gang Operated
Police found shocking videos on Farhan’s phone, including one where a girl was burned with a cigarette. The gang mainly targeted Hindu college girls, giving them drugs like marijuana and alcohol, forcing them to eat meat, and pressuring them to convert.
Another accused, Sahil Khan, ran dance classes and preyed on poor village girls. He would take them to pubs, spike their drinks, rape them, and film the acts to blackmail them later.
Arrests and Protests
Farhan, Sahil, and another accused, Saad, have been arrested, while Ali, Abrar, and Nabeel are still missing. When taken to court, angry lawyers beat up Farhan and Ali, but police saved them.
BJP leaders have strongly condemned the case, calling it a "Kerala Story-like conspiracy" and demanding strict punishment. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to dig deeper.
Similar to Ajmer 1992 Scandal
This case reminds people of the 1992 Ajmer scandal, where over 100 schoolgirls were raped, filmed, and blackmailed. Many victims committed suicide after their photos were leaked. Six men were jailed for life in that case.
Now, Bhopal police are investigating if this gang operated in other cities like Indore. The victims are being protected, and police are searching for more evidence.
