Bengaluru: Take Helicopter Ride To Avoid Traffic

It is very annoying to sit in the traffic for hours with nothing to do. Most of us think that it would be better if we could just fly and reach our destination. This can be really done now. A company is actually making this a reality in Bengaluru. Residents in Bengaluru will soon get to beat the traffic with helicopter rides. Bengaluru is one of the cities with the worst traffic problems. The only solution it seems is to take the air route. A road trip between Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport costs over Rs 1,300 and takes over two hours. HAL makes sense as it is close to all popular locations in the city like Indiranagar, Koramangala, and other IT parks. By choosing this route people will be able to save a lot of time by skipping the most congested routes during their commutes. That may get reduced to a mere 12 minutes. A company called BLADE India has announced that it will be launching two helicopter flights between Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Airport (HAL), every weekday at 9 am and returning at 4:15 pm. It will be a five-seater helicopter. Managing Director, BLADE India, Amit Dutta said,  “While helicopter services are a premium product, with today’s launch we can offer accessibility and quick travelling. These flights can be booked like any other flight. The initial cost would be Rs 3,250 with added taxes.” The service will be operational from 10th October 2022 and is now open for bookings on the BLADE India website.

Previously, the company had launched its first flights in Maharashtra between Mumbai, Pune and Shirdi in November 2019. Later they expanded its service by starting helicopter flights to Coorg, Hampi, and Kabini in Karnataka and then to Goa. With this launch, the company wants to introduce more such routes in Bengaluru and plans to increase the frequency based on demand.
