Bengaluru Man Throws Cash From Flyover

A man brought vehicles on a flyover in Bengaluru to a standstill after he threw money at people and on the crowd below in a busy market area of the city.

Traffic snarls are not uncommon in Bengaluru, however, traffic was stopped under the KR Market flyover for an unusual reason on 24th January 2023. A man brought vehicles on the KR Market flyover to a standstill after he threw money at people and on the crowd below in a busy market area of the city. Videos shot by motorists on the phone showed the man wearing a coat and trousers walking with a wall clock on his neck on the flyover and throwing large sums of cash in the air. Some of the motorists are seen running to him and requesting money. Videos of the incident, which have now gone viral, show several people gathered on the road below and are seen jumping to catch the money. The currency notes were of ? 10 denomination. He reportedly threw around notes worth ? 2,000 - 3,000, according to people who were in the area at the time of the incident. The man reportedly fled the spot by the time a police team reached there.

Police started investigation by registering a case for creating law and order problems. The police identified the man as Arun K, an employee of an event management firm, and were questioning him. According to some reports he is a former Kabbaddi player.Police visited his house in Nagarbhavi and issued a notice for an offense leading to public nuisance. They said the man denied charges of being mentally unstable. It isn't clear why he disposed of the money. However, the police claimed the act was a publicity stunt
